Teams may contain 4, 5, or 6 players. All competitors must be members of Cambs & Hunts C.B.A. and the E.B.U. Additional players, up to the maximum, may be added at any time but must be registered with the Tournament Organiser before playing in a match.
All rounds will be knock-out and should be played at venues to be agreed between the captains by the dates specified in the draw. (A University team, drawn away, who would have difficulty in reaching the venue, has the option to request that the match be played in Cambridge).
Green points will be awarded at all stages.
If team captains are unable to agree on a date, the Tournament Organiser should be informed. He may permit a later date agreeable to both captains. Failing that, matches must be played at Cambridge Bridge Club on the latest specified date for the round. (In this case the Cambridge Club Secretary should be informed). A team failing to attend will be eliminated by default.
Depending on entries it is likely that the dates for completion of successive rounds will be November 13, December 4, January 23, February 13 and March 13.
Most matches will be 24 boards, or 32 if both captains agree. The final will be of 32 boards, or 48 if both captains agree.
Pre-dealt boards, with hand records, can be made available for a charge by request to the Tournament Organiser, giving as much notice as possible (24 boards £8, 32 boards £10 & 48 boards £12) .
The winning team will represent the County for the Pachabo Cup in West Bromwich on 8th - 9th June 2002 or if they are unavailable, a combination of winners and runners-up (EBU Yearbook pp 56-57).
The entry fee is £10 per team. Entries must be received not later than Friday 19th October 2001.
If the entry to the knockout is sufficiently large, a Plate event will be organised, open with no extra fee to all teams knocked out in the first round (second round for those with a bye in the first).
Please detach the entry form below and return it, with the entry fee (cheques made payable to Cambs & Hunts C.B.A.) to the Tournament Organiser:
